SantExpo 2025: Medical Transport via Drones and Connected Sensors

A look back at our presentation at SantExpo 2025 : drones, traceability, and the future of medical logistics

On May 21, at SantExpo 2025, our Partner Dräger welcomed us to its booth for a panel discussion moderated by Gaël Brousse, Head of Deployment and Metrology at Superwyze ; Laurent Rathouis, Biomedical Engineer at William Morey Hospital ; and Gautier Dhaussy, founder of Delivrone, to present a unique case study : the transport of medical supplies via drone, fully tracked using our connected sensors.

A first-of-its-kind experiment in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté

On May 15, the Montceau-les-Mines Hospital hosted a series of test flights of medical drones operated by Delivrone, as part of a project coordinated by Laurent Rathouis. The goal: to test a fast and secure transport solution between Montceau and Sevrey for temperature-sensitive medical supplies.

We have equipped the onboard coolers with our ultra-lightweight Superwyze sensors, which can accurately record the temperature throughout the entire journey. Upon arrival, hospital staff can quickly verify whether storage conditions have been properly maintained—a critical factor for biological samples and certain medications.

A conference that left a lasting impression

During our presentation, we shared the project’s key findings, its logistical challenges, and its prospects for large-scale deployment. Several attendees expressed surprise at the sensor’s size and weight (just 3 grams) as well as how easily it can be integrated into existing devices.

A hospital logistics in full transformation

This project marks an important step towards a more responsive, reliable supply chain that is fully adapted to the constraints of the field. Thanks to an easy integration, a light weight (3 g) without compromising on traceability, our sensors meet the needs of healthcare institutions committed to innovation.
